Yann Emmenegger

Laboratory Technician

About me:

I obtained my federal certificate as a biology laboratory technician at the Geneva University Hospitals (HUG) in 2005. In 2006, I joined the CIG, where I first worked with Prof. Mehdi Tafti on sleep research, and then for 19 years with Prof. Paul Franken, studying sleep and circadian rhythms in the mouse model. During this time, I developed strong expertise in managing mouse lines, performing surgical procedures, and identifying vigilance states.

I am now part of Prof. Johannes Larsch’s lab, where I work with zebrafish. My responsibilities include overseeing fish lines, performing embryo injections, and recording behavior. In addition, I provide training for the Zebrafish Module 1 as part of the RESAL program.
